"Good"&"Bad" Design

A typographic exploration of communication, clarity, and perception. This project investigates how we define “good” and “bad” design through a pair of contrasting typographic posters with Albert Einstein’s quote:

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

I created one poster that prioritises legibility and balance, and another that disrupts readability through contrast, tight spacing, and visual tension. Both use the same bold typeface but explore different outcomes through layout and negative space.

The photoshoot took place at the Barbican, chosen for its raw, geometric, brutalist architecture, which resembles the tone of the designs.

The project questions whether good and bad designs are fixed ideas or if they shift based on purpose, context, and interpretation.
